VIDEO (NZ): Large low looms – who gets rain/wind & who does not

Another large low will bring severe weather to parts of both main islands of NZ this week, followed by a cooler change and then more high pressure.

Heavy rain, downpours and potentially isolated thunderstorms are forecast along with gusty to gale force winds – all with a subtropical connection.

Severe weather in NZ looks to peak on Thursday, but could be off and on until Saturday.
