VIDEO: High pressure on the way, as large sub-tropical low forms nearby

A windy W to SW flow covers New Zealand for Wednesday but will ease on Thursday as high pressure expands.

Already the lower South Island is being injected with a slightly milder airflow out of Australia. weekend that high from Aussie continues to move in – and for the start of next week too – but at the same time a large sub-tropical low will form just north east of NZ and remain stuck there for days, encouraging showers, drizzle patches and a windy south east flow over the North Island.
