ClimateWatch: How SEPTEMBER 2025 is shaping up as spring weather arrives

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Spring weather is setting in across New Zealand and the southern half of Australia with windier weather in both nations and more temperature fluctuations between mild/warm days and colder ones.

High pressure increases over Australia and northern NZ in the coming weeks – but spring chaos means storms are wild over the Southern Ocean and some low pressure is bubbling about Australia and the sub-tropics north of NZ in the first week or two.

We cover rainfall for the next 16 days, air pressure placement over the next 3 weeks and the latest on El Nino/La Nina and the Indian Ocean Dipole.
