VIDEO: Sub-tropical low pressure to boost NZ’s temperatures again, bring windy weather too

Much of NZ had a warmer than average April and May looks to kick off on the warmer than average note thanks, once again, to sub-tropical low pressure to the north of NZ and powerful high pressure to our east. The set up encourages airflows from around the Cook Islands and Tonga to spread down over most of New Zealand next week, pushing overnight lows into double digits and again seeing daytime highs reach the 20+ degree mark in some places.

Australia is more unsettled with windier westerlies in the south, easterlies for Queensland, and NSW is stuck in the middle with some low pressure forming there next week following a weak cold front.

We have your NZ and Australia forecast out to Tuesday.
