A powerful high pressure zone in the NZ area will bring a slightly more refreshing southerly into Norfolk Island, New Caledonia, Vanuatu and even to Fiji and Tonga… but over the days ahead easterlies kick back in further north and around Samoa to the Cook Islands a low pressure zone forms with plenty of thunderstorms and areas of rain.
Basically east of Fiji is wettest, west of Fiji is driest. In the North Pacific it’s a bit showery in Hawaii but nothing major there, meanwhile winter storms are now affecting Japan and the Pacific North-West of North America. We also have an exclusive 7 day rainfall map for the Pacific – to help make sense of where most of the weather will be (and not be!).
