High pressure is dominating the New Zealand area but a cold front is spreading up the nation over Thursday, Friday and Saturday bringing a temperature drop behind it that will be significant for the South Island overnight Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, the North Island has a colder change but also more easterlies and nor’easters – and some weekend showers keeping temperatures up overnight for some places.
By Monday, sub-tropical winds build across the nation.
