Low pressure is moving into NZ and will bring heavy rain to the western side of the South Island and some patchy rain and showers into the North Island with mild northerly quarter winds changing to colder south to south-westerlies going into the weekend.
Next week looks colder across the country as those winds continue on, with high pressure slowly moving towards us. This means frosts are likely in both main islands and a drop in temperatures for basically all regions.
The skies dry out more next week – but coastal showers will be in the mix.
