Low pressure continues to slowly move across the upper North Island and for some that will bring the sun out, for others it will bring rain or showers. The instability caused by low pressure could produce some pockets of heavy rain – but our mountains and ranges will also break some of that up.
Meanwhile the polar southerly in the South Island will today and tonight move into the lower half of the North Island before easing going into Friday. This will bring snow into the ranges and mountains of the lower and central North Island.
There’s also some heavy rain in the north-east of the South Island around North Canterbury and southern Marlborough over the next day or so.
We track the progress of wet weather – and the incoming high pressure zone, with your New Zealand weather forecast out to next Wednesday.
