NZ: A switch to northerlies & some wet weather

Temperatures will start to lift this weekend both by day and by night in most (but not all) regions. We track the various wind directions, but generally speaking we have more northerly quarter winds over the country starting this weekend and continuing next week.

A low that is developing in the Tasman Sea will cross the South Island this week – bringing a brief return to southerly winds for the eastern coastline going into the start of next week, but nothing compared to the southerly we just had.

Rain and showers are in the mix – but there are large dry spells.

We have your 7 day rainfall map and 8 days of forecast maps to make sense of this weekend and right across next week.
