Make the most of the sunny, dry, calm weather while you have it – a change is coming next week as a storm exits Australia and morphs into a new system in the NZ area. This is most likely to produce a narrow but heavy area of rain that is fed by tropical or subtropical northerlies – bringing heavy rain back into the upper South Island and upper half of the North Island.
This is most likely around Tuesday and Wednesday.
Gale force northerliies are also possible on Tuesday – although precisely where is yet to be locked in.
We have your NZ forecast through to Wednesday of next week!
