Spring blasts continue, but some high pressure this weekend

Severe gales continue off and on for some regions over today, and the days ahead – but high pressure will cross northern NZ this weekend. The high will go from west of NZ on Saturday (cooler airflow) to east of NZ on Sunday (warmer airflow).

Next week another cold front arrives with more wind, rain and showers – mixed in with some large dry areas.

Our next ClimateWatch update will be out on Monday with the latest longer range outlook for this current weather pattern.

But we’re in the middle of spring now – so windy, changeable, weather is likely to continue on for the weeks ahead, but perhaps with more quiet lulls.
