UPDATED RAINFALL OUTLOOK – NEXT SEVEN DAYS

The next seven days (through to the 21st December) are looking to see average to slightly above average rainfall for all of New Zealand. Due to some days being unstable certain inland areas may see rainfall a fair amount about average for the time of year if downpours occur.

Western regions don’t really need any more rain at the moment that’s for sure but more shall come. Eastern regions could do with some more although in saying that soil moisture deficits are stacking up about right compared to the historical average, but still, to reiterate… a little more rainfall wouldn’t hurt.

MUGGY FOR THE NEXT 6 DAYS

There won’t be any lack of humidity / mugginess over the next 6 days, the North Island especially will feel a bit tropical at times making for uncomfortable sleeping. The South Island while not as humid still gets some muggy days especially Friday. Friday, Saturday and Sunday are muggy for Nelson and Marlborough.

It finally all looks to get pushed out of the way from about Tuesday 20th December as a cool southwest change kicks in.
