An unsettled weather pattern is forecast for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day around New Zealand with a colder southerly moving northwards but remaining mostly dry in the very north of the country.

It will be a little windy in some places (not stormy) and a little wet in the South Island and lower North Island over the several days ahead.
