A high that has influenced NZ’s weather for half a month is today over the top of us – by Wednesday in comes low pressure. The low isn’t overly energetic but should produce some rain for the North Island and will brush the upper South Island. We explain how this set-up works and why it’s a bit hit and miss.
Milder weather also spreads across many parts of NZ this week as the southerly eases for most, although cold air still flirts with the lower South Island.
This coming weekend another low from the Tasman Sea may be approaching NZ.
