Milder weather is moving in this weekend, ahead of a wintry change that peaks around Monday to Wednesday across New Zealand, bringing some heavy mountain snow and the chance of some low lying snow flurries around the South Island.

Snow is also forecast for the Central North Island and eastern ranges of the North Island right up to Hawke’s Bay Tairawhiti/Gisborne area (although won’t be much that far north).
