Wednesday Newsfeed: High pressure growing, but Thursday cold front for SI

High pressure is expanding across NZ, but the next cold front is waiting to move in. With high pressure dominating NZ’s weather the next cold front will be weak in nature, with a burst of rain and cooler air for the lower South Island mostly. It falls apart as it tries to move into the North Island on Thursday night and Friday AM.

But for Wednesday, most places are settled.

Winds in Wellington today will be lighter ahead of tomorrow’s gale nor’westers.

*Programming Note: Sorry, we have no weather video today – back again Thursday!
