A southerly change is coming in but it’s not the most powerful one NZ has seen. Because it has been so much warmer than average lately this incoming ‘cold’ change will reset temperatures to normal for most regions. However, even with a southerly change in the peak depths of winter around one-third of the country will still lean warmer than usual and a smaller percentage will be colder than average.
