VIDEO: A severe cyclone, a big high and a powerful Easter Weekend storm

Make the most of the weather over the next few days – one week from now NZ will be stormier.

Over the next few days high pressure crosses over New Zealand bringing milder than usual weather into many places.

Winds pick up from the northerly quarter, especially from Cook Strait southwards.

By next Wednesday showers and winds increase over NZ. Easter Weekend itself looks stormy in most (but not all) regions as the country is likely affected by a huge area of low pressure in the Southern Ocean – we take a sneak peek at Easter Saturday.
