Tuesday Newsfeed: Weak low pressure covers NZ, hit & miss wet weather

Low pressure today expands over New Zealand but the wet weather isn’t for everyone, with only patches of rain, showers and drizzle – and larger dry areas in between.

The low pressure zone means more instability, so overnight/morning drizzle is often easier to form, along with afternoon downpours. Low cloud can also be an issue – please check the fog forecaster in our new App for more details.

Winds are generally light in most regions today.

High pressure returns later in the week but Autumn’s windy westerlies are building this weekend/next week – watch our special 10 Day NZ forecast which was issued yesterday afternoon.
