Tuesday: Full nationwide forecast

With a large high in control of our weather at the moment New Zealanders can expect mostly settled weather to continue. The cool nights and warm days will produce some cloudy periods especially morning and night.  No sign yet of our tropical low coming in this weekend – but by Thursday or Friday we expect easterlies to develop and strengthen in the north with clouds thickening by late Friday.

Southland
Mostly sunny with light west to north west winds
High: 19

Central Otago
Mostly sunny with light winds at first, afternoon south to southwest breezes.
High: 23

Coastal Otago
Morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, some cloud rolls back in again during the evening however. East to northeast winds.
High: 17

West Coast
Sunny with light winds at first, afternoon west to southwest seabreezes
Highs: 18-20

Canterbury
Areas of cloud morning and night with mostly sunny conditions by day, light winds in the morning then afternoon east to northeast breezes (sea breezes).
Highs: 18-20

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon northeasterlies.
Highs: 22-23

Wellington
Sunny with light winds.
High: 20

Western North Island
Sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon west to southwest breezes.
Highs: 22-25

Eastern North Island
Sunny with any early cloud clearing, mainly about Gisborne. Afternoon east to northeast breezes.
Highs: 21-24

Central North Island, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly sunny with light winds, afternoon northerlies about the Bay Of Plenty.
Highs: 23-27

Auckland:
Sunny spells with light winds in the morning, afternoon sea breezes.
High: 25

Northland:
Sunny areas and some cloud, risk of an isolated shower. Winds light from the east or sea breezes 
High: 24 or 25
