The sun shone in most places today and the temperatures were fairly respectable on the whole.

Tonight should be relatively clear in most areas but tomorrow sees a front moving over southern and central areas, bringing a cool change with a few showers as it heads north.

The top temperature today went to both Masterton and Culverden with 27 degrees and the low was 16 in Invercargill.

Hi Andrew,

Yep it’s been a bit quiet in the tropics this summer.  I think the area between Auckland and the Coral Sea is an interesting area to watch.  Plenty of lows forming in the Coral Sea and Northern Tasman Sea…affecting Queensland with floods and gales.

I’m feeling pretty confident that we’re in for a wetter Feb and March than last year.

Autumn’s not far away now…depending on which date you observ as being day 1 of Autumn.  Being a weather website we observ the Meteorological date – March 1st .
