The Big Picture: Cold to start in parts on Thursday

On Thursday we have an anticyclone sitting over New Zealand, bringing mainly settled and sunny weather for most, along with light winds.

Some morning cloud breaks to sunny areas on the West Coast of the South Island, a touch of high cloud moving into Southland and Otago in the evening from the west.

Cloud also develops about Northland from afternoon.
