Sunday’s national forecast – Mild for May, windy for some (+10 Maps)

The warmer than usual north to north west flow continues to blow across NZ with gusty conditions through Cook Strait and some northern alpine parts of the South Island.

A few showers will affect the upper North Island but accumulations are low. Downpours further south on the West Coast may be torrential in some localised falls. Showers through central NZ will also blow through Nelson and Cook Strait surrounds – but the rest of the country is dry (or mainly dry overall) .

Most of NZ is warmer than average for this time of year.

All the maps below can be found on our website and many can be found in our free app too. We are upgrading and merging our WeatherWatch App with RuralWeather.co.nz in the coming months too – adding even more features and making a uniform approach to both the website and app (ie, same maps, same features, similar experience whether you’re an app user or web user).

Have a great Sunday!
