Spring warmth returns

Most regions are enjoying the return of spring’s warmth this afternoon as winds from the west to north west continue to blow.

Warmest areas are those in the north and east where temperatures are now in the late teens.

The nation’s warmest spots are Whangarei, Napier, Mahia Peninsula, Christchurch and Timaru at the moment on 18 degrees.

As predicted by WeatherWatch.co.nz yesterday Invercargill is also warmer, on 12 degrees this hour.  This time last week it was 4 degrees and heavily snowing.

Auckland has 17, Wellington 16 and Dunedin 14.
