So, How Are We Doing?!

WeatherWatch.co.nz

Thank you for the emails and comments so far…please, keep them coming!

WeatherWatch.co.nz is now just over a quarter of a year old and we’d love to hear from you and how you think we’re doing!

Apart from what we’re doing well, we’re really keen to know what you’d like to see improved – or to see more of.

  • Do you think we have balanced coverage of the nation’s weather?
  • Do we update enough?
  • Are our news stories detailed enough – or perhaps too detailed?
  • What would you like to see more of?

Whether it’s complimentary or constructive we’d love to read your comments & suggestions.  Feel free to post a public comment below or use the Contact Us button at the top of the page to send a private email to our Weather Watch team.

Thanks!  Your on-going feedback helps us create a better product!

Love the site, check it regularly along with metservice site. Things like the lightning detector make this site unique! As for any suggestions, perhaps more regular updates and keep up the weekend rain tracker! Also agree the rain radars should be free to use, as it is us New Zealanders that own them! Cheers

I refer to this site on a daily basis as well as to Metservice. Of the two. this is really the more helpful, more like checking with a friend than with a computer. Metservice is good but is too informal. And the rain radar should be availble free to all on a continual basis, we bought it, we should be able to use it, not just the weather boffins who aren’t always right anyway!

I think it is very nice site agree with other feedbacks.
Suggestions:
extreme overseas updates
pollen updates.

I’d second the pollen count. Especially with the deadly privet about to start flowering.
Sun levels/burn time/UV rays, might also be a good item to add. Those schools that have compulsory wearing of sun hats, will recommence soon.
I like the rest of the format. Dramatic overseas weather stories are certainly of interest when there is not much happening down under.

Hi all,

We’re currently working on a detailed UV section – Pollen count is something I’ll look in to too!

Thanks for all the comments – really helpful.

Cheers

I think you guys are doing a really great job. I visit a couple of times a day to get updates. Perhaps at the end of the daily debrief, you could include the outlook for the next two or three days.

I think you do a great job on the weather and the site is good as it is as far as I am concerned. I use it daily as the local content is very accurate and I enjoy reading your comments on the how’s and why’s of the weather patterns.
One cannot help but become more interested in our weather and the reasons it does what it does when reading your descriptions.
I also use MetVuw and together I can come up with a decent daily forecast, quite fun really and do it almost every morning.

The site has much more than just a normal weather update from other sources and I am certain that it will become way more popular than any TV weather etc presently available.

One very important thing I have noticed is that you will admit it if you get it wrong, not like certain TV weather people who seem to me to be way out of touch with it actually.

Do not stop, a great job, Thankyou.

Its good the way it is,Most people dont want to know about thickness,CAPE,metars,850hpa temperatures etc(though is required for experts/pilots etc/weather enthusiasts) unless it can be related directly to whats currently going on.Keep up the good work and keeping us informed.
