NZ VIDEO: Polar air, subtropical air, gales, sunshine and showers

Peak spring weather continues over NZ with another windy, colder, surge of weather this weekend and again early next week. However we’re seeing more mixing of airflows over the next week – in other words, not always cold. Subtropical and Australian airflows will be added into the mix, along with the surges of polar air.

Basically this set up brings more windy weather – but some periods of calm too, as high pressure zones skirt to the north of NZ and the big storms remain well to our south.

Westerly driven weather is the main feature of NZ’s weather pattern over the next 7 days.
