One big high is departing NZ and before the next arrives we have some wet weather moving through. On Friday, as the high currently over the South Island moves out to our east, a small area of low pressure and some isolated pockets of rain (possibly heavy) will move through from west to east. This looks likely to clear into the weekend as a cold southerly heads up and over much of the country by Sunday.
The sticking point? Showers and gloomier weather stays around parts of the Eastern North Island.
We have your forecast to Monday of next week.
