A few cold fronts spread north over the country today, rain feeds into the southwestern corner of the North Island this morning with scattered falls spreading east. This afternoon rain spreads north into the upper North Island with rain spilling over into Hawkes Bay then eventually Gisborne in the east.

Any showers for the West Coast of the South Island clear this morning then becoming mostly sunny, expect showers in the south and east. Temperatures in Canterbury will be around the mid teens, compared to the last few days that is a fair amount cooler. Nelson and Tasman have a good day weather wise with temperatures likely to reach into the mid twenties.
