A weak broad area of low pressure covers the country today, winds are mainly light with afternoon sea breezes. It’s looking fairly sunny but there may be a bit of morning cloud about and into the afternoon for some regions.

Northland
Sunny areas and a few clouds about, light winds in the morning then afternoon sea breezes.

Auckland

Sunny areas and some cloud about, light winds tend southwest.
High: 26

Waikato, Central North Island & Bay Of Plenty

Mostly sunny with light winds, cloud builds a little in the afternoon then
a few isolated showers are possible late afternoon / evening for inland areas.
Mainly remaining dry overall.
Highs: 26-28

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon easterlies. Risk of
an isolated shower about the ranges of East Cape late afternoon / evening.
Highs: 23-25

Western North Island

Mostly sunny with light winds, some cloud builds later in the evening /
overnight.
Highs: 24-28

Wellington

Early cloud clears to mainly sunny conditions, southerly winds die away by
evening.
High: 22

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon east to northeast
winds.
Highs: 23-26

Canterbury

Any morning cloud clears to mostly sunny weather, east to northeast winds
building in the afternoon near the coast.
Highs: 22-24

West Coast

Mostly sunny weather with light winds, cloud builds in the evening.
Highs: 21-22

Coastal Otago

Sunny areas and some cloud, cloud builds a little from afternoon. Chance of
an evening shower mainly in the south otherwise dry, northeasterly winds.
High: 20

Central Otago

Mostly sunny weather, cloud builds a little from afternoon. Light
winds.
Highs: 24-25

Southland

Cloudy areas and a few sunny spells, mainly morning. A few isolated showers
possible late afternoon / evening. Light winds.
Highs: 21-22
