A cold front is moving into the South Island tonight and then moves up the country over Saturday and Sunday, falling apart as it heads north bringing only a few showers, if that, to other regions. The bulk of the wet weather with this front will be in southern and eastern parts of both main islands.
Temperatures drop for many on Saturday and/or Sunday, with a return to frosts in some southern and inland areas.
Next week high pressure is around NZ, although it brings varying windflows and cloud cover, and a few showers. But warmer winds are looking likely to come into the mix, so regions nationwide should feel that change next week.
