CNN reports on WeatherWatch.co.nz’s snow coverage

New Zealand’s snow storm has captured the attention of CNN viewers around the globe thanks to updates and photos via WeatherWatch.co.nz.

It’s the fourth time this year that WeatherWatch.co.nz has worked with CNN to provide news worthy New Zealand content to international viewers.

CNN Meteorologist Pedram Javaheri ran a lengthy piece about our wintry weather early this morning NZT.

He focused on the rareness of the snow and quoted numerous centres in New Zealand which had received snow to sea level – thanks to the WeatherWatch.co.nz readers who continually gave us weather updates from where they were.

CNN International and WeatherWatch.co.nz have had a close relationship since 2009 and often share content during news events here in New Zealand which appeal to overseas TV viewers.

Our thanks to Peter Murray for sending in that fantastic photo – and to all our readers and viewers who send in weather observations from where they are.

Meteorologist Pedram Javaheri tells viewers about snow falling in several main centres, including Invercargill, Christchurch, Nelson and Wellington – and discussed the rareness of the snow falling on the ranges near Auckland

This shows how good and professional everyone at weatherwatch is and how valued they are by CNN.
Great work guys/girls at weatherwatch and keep it up maybe next year BBC and FoxNews will use you guys! Still wonder why TVNZ or 3News dont use you as much…

Thanks very much for that – we appreciate it.

With regards to TVNZ and TV3 we have no idea – they certainly follow our news updates closely on Twitter but don’t use us for interviews or credit us.
