On Monday WeatherWatch.co.nz reported that computer models at the time were forecasting a sunny weekend for everyone… so did we jinx things but running that story? Yes. Quite possibly for some!
The latest three computer sweeps have shown an intense low developing over the state of Victoria and heading our way with conditions going down hill in the South Island late Saturday and the North Island during Sunday.
But just how bad will it be? Well, that all depends on timing.
The high that’s spreading onto the nation on Saturday may well be strong enough to hold any rain off, in most main centres, until the end of Sunday.
Our latest data shows that northern centres, such as Hamilton and Auckland may not even see rainat at all – leaving a very pleasant weekend ahead.
We’ll keep you posted and should have a firm idea tomorrow morning as to where the rain will fall and who will have a dry, sunny, weekend.

Saturday looks pretty mediocre and windy, maybe even overcast as that projected high passes just to the north.
