This is the start of a new weekly feature, where we take the best of the week’s comments here on the website and from our Facebook page and publish them on a Sunday morning!
—We start off with this week’s poll – where we asked our readers to offer their take on the start to summer – and the distictly un-summery weather most of the country (with a few exceptions) has been enduring in the last few weeks.
After the poll, one commenter said:
“I am glad the weather is crappy for the beginning of the School Holidays, kids get way too much time off now it’s crazy. I hope it keeps raining for the entire School Holidays and all the screaming annoying kids have to stay inside and have a bad time and annoy their parents for 3 months.”
For sheer passion, we’re going to have to give them this one – and it shows once again something that never fails to surprise us here at the site – no matter how bad the weather is, there is always a vocal minority writing in to tell us how much they love it!
—We published a story on the site about Australia’s Christmas Day forecast this week (as well as our own), and we got a fair bit of feedback about that, none more apt than this from Facebook user “Weather Complaining”:
“Auckland must be some stiff competition with mt isa in the cloudy stakes this week.“
—And finally, first place must go to Hayden Wharfe, who wrote a special note to the man from the North Pole on most kids’ minds this week, in our Santa Tracker preview story:
“Hi Santa, have a good and safe trip and enjoy all of your milk and biscuts in NZ.
Thanks Hayden”
We can’t follow that!
