There are a few things going on around NZ weatherwise with severe gales, heavy rain, some snow again, and large dry areas in the mix too.
Nor’west winds ramp up further going into tomorrow/Friday with severe gales possible in the lower North Island and across parts of the South Island.
Heavy rain will increase over the West Coast today and the days ahead – with showers, some heavy, also coming into the western North Island. As low pressure moves in on Sunday/Monday the South Island will see rain spreading further into the east too (this won’t happen so much for the North Island).
Next week kicks off colder for the South Island and maybe the lower North Island – and that westerly wind isn’t finished with us yet either, that comes back in again next week.
