VIDEO: NZ – 7 day Forecast: High pressure & a cold front

The weather around NZ and Australia is quite similar over the coming with a lot of high pressure (especially south of Australia and tracking eastwards towards New Zealand). However the highs aren’t very tall from north to south – which means cold fronts from the Southern Ocean will continue to “nip at the heels” of both nations.

Southland, Fiordland and Tasmania, for example, will notice this the most. For those in Hawke’s Bay and surrounds there will be some patchy wet weather (hit and miss) in the days ahead.

But for the most part NZ is dominated by a lot of high pressure over the coming week or two, with many dry areas becoming drier.

There’s also a Tropical Cyclone today in the South Pacific named “Nat” – Cyclone Nat is heading towards Tahiti and Papeete. We have a special video about that also out today at WeatherWatchTV.
