Temperatures are well below par this morning across parts of the country, especially in inland areas of the North Island.

Waiouru is the coldest on -2, Taupo 0, Palmerston North, Hawera, Paraparaumu and Dunedin are all shivering on just 2 degrees.  

Despite the cold, temperatures should climb quite quickly under mainly sunny skies.
