Thursday Newsfeed: Some wet weather, then windier westerlies

A weak low pressure zone moves into the western and upper South Island over the next day or so and brings some western and northern rain for the island. The front then moves into the North Island for Saturday and falls apart.

After this moves through a westerly flow will develop over the weekend, with windier weather from Sunday onwards. See the video link in this story to see our last video update about the windier weather.

For those needing rain, not a huge amount is coming – but some wet weather will brush the upper South Island.
