RURAL PODCASTS x 2: Being prepared for sunburn/UV + Protecting livestock this summer

We have two podcasts on the go for our rural audience this week.

PODCAST 1

The first is related to UV risks – and why farmers in NZ perhaps just need to develop some VERY BASIC ways to be more sun smart…one idea is simply leaving sun tan lotion in your lunch box! It’s a video podcast here – and Philip Duncan even experiences a dramatic power cut during it (but manages to say connected!). UV rays are bad in NZ and they are peaking now.

Host Neville Wallace talks to Andrea Newland of Melanoma NZ, along with FMG and RuralWeather to make sense of it all for you.

PODCAST 2

Our weekly El Nino Watch podcast – as we track the bizarre weather patterns occuring this year. This week we speak to a veterinarian from Canterbury who discusses how we can protect livestock this summer… and what we may need to do more of as summer heat increases. We also track the latest pattern – which in some places does NOT feel like El Nino, however the ground is starting to dry out. El Nino Watch Podcasts are brought to you every Wednesday this November and December, brought to you by Farmers Weekly and FMG.
