POLL RESULTS: A cold, windy, dry spring for most

We’ve had a mixed bag of a spring so far, with the transition from winter to summer feeling distinctly El Niño-ish, wetter weather than normal on the west coasts, and drier conditions in the east and inland for parts of both islands.

We wanted to know which word best described your 2015 spring so far – and the results are back – with “cold” the overall winner as a spring descriptor!

Close behind was “windy”, followed by “wet” – not exactly ringing endorsements for a season expected to bring us closer to hotter, drier conditions…

One commenter from Auckland wrote:
I just did year to date rainfall for Albany, We had 824mm. Driest Jan-October since 1993 and second driest in last 30 years.

Stay watching this space for our next poll, coming Sunday morning!
