High pressure will cross the South Island this weekend bringing light winds, cold nights, frosts and fog, while the North Island has more of a south-easterly wind flow bringing cloud to eastern areas and a few showers. Once again, those west of the ranges will likely have sunny weather – but there may be morning fog and a few frosty areas in the mix.
The high pressure zone is with NZ until the middle of next week when it finally starts to move further eastwards, allowing for a slightly milder airflow to kick in.
Many regions are dry for the next week with rain chances increasing next weekend, or even the following week, once this high pressure zone has gone.
