A large anticyclone brings mainly settled weather today however unstable conditions may develop about some North Island regions this afternoon, mainly inland. An anticyclone continues to bring mainly settled weather on Thursday, a front moves onto the lower South Island later in the evening or overnight.

Sunny spells for many North Island regions today, isolated showers possible about western Bay Of Plenty this morning, Auckland and Northland for a time this afternoon. Isolated showers about western Waikato may become heavy then easing this evening. A mostly sunny day for the South Island, any morning cloud clears for the West Coast then sunny with light winds.

Mostly sunny with some cloud at times for most North Island regions on Thursday, there could be some morning fog about the Waikato. The South Island sees sunny areas and some high cloud, rain moves into Fiordland / Southland later in the evening or overnight.
