An anticyclone brings mainly settled and sunny weather to New Zealand today, just the West Coast of the South Island is a bit cloudier than elsewhere. Anticyclonic conditions bring mainly settled weather to New Zealand again on Saturday, however there will be a northwesterly drift over the South Island and lower North Island during the day which brings some cloud especially in the west.

Mostly sunny for the North Island today, just some cloud passing through Northland at times, there could also be some morning cloud about Bay Of Plenty. Temperatures getting warm with afternoon high’s approaching the mid twenties in some areas. The West Coast of the South Island has a mostly cloudy day, perhaps a light shower or two also, sunny and warm in the east.

The North Island is mainly sunny and settled on Saturday, some cloud for Northland in the afternoon and Taranaki southwards in the west. Warm once again out east. Sunny spells for the western South Island on Saturday, showers or some rain about Fiordland. Morning high cloud in the east breaks to a mostly sunny afternoon.
