An anticyclone covers most of New Zealand on Friday.

Mostly sunny for the western North Island on Friday, some cloud in the northeast brings a shower or two, Auckland and Northland may cloud up after a mainly sunny start.

The South Island has mostly sunny weather with some high cloud. Some cloud about Southland breaks away in the afternoon, coastal cloud for Otago afternoon onwards in the east.
