Friday’s national forecast

High pressure will build in off the Tasman Sea today, bring settled weather to the country.

The only chances for rain today will be about Dunedin, Gisborne and Hawkes Bay.  But even in these areas, precipitation chances are small.  These areas, along with the rest of the eastern parts of the country, will likely still see some rather windy conditions…at least for the early part of the day.

The rest of the country is looking at some settled, if not rather chilly weather.  Inland Southland and Otago could end up going below zero tonight after not making it much above 5 for daytime highs.

Highs about the rest of the country should be between 10 and 15.
