Powerful high pressure is parked over Tasmania and will slowly drift into New Zealand this week, bringing a repetitive forecast to some regions.
Colder nights with some frost are expected this week, with foggy patches developing later in the week and this weekend. But the eastern North Island may be caught in a colder south to south-east flow bringing cloud and some showers off and on until at least Sunday. This flow will mean those to the west of the hills and ranges should have some very sunny weather mid to late week.
There’s also some patchy rain and showers around Coromandel Peninsula, Auckland and Northland over the next couple of days which will move northwards and fall apart.
