Wet weather is moving over the North Island today, while the South Island has drier skies – ahead of another brief southerly and weaker cold front for the south on Wednesday, reaching central NZ around the middle of the day and falling apart as it moves northwards.
NZ is on the edge of high pressure, and this will usher in a windier nor’wester going into Friday and Saturday along with heavy West Coast rain.
Again, this is likely to fall apart as it moves into the North Island going into Sunday and Monday.
We also have a 7 day rainfall map to make sense of where the heaviest rain will be – and which regions will be driest.
