Building in the south – Situation & outlook for Wednesday

It’s looking like more of the same tomorrow, with a bit of a change come the afternoon in the lower South Island.

A ridge covers most of the country in the morning, though a northwesterly airflow will then pick up over the lower South Island later in the day – bringing strong winds to Foveaux strait.

It will be another cool start for inland parts of both islands though, with still, cold air lingering overnight and no real windflow to keep things fresh – we could well see frost conditions (or close to)!
