Westerly change this week, unsettled but large dry areas

Westerlies kick back in again this week which will bring a break to those in the east as far as wet weather is concerned, with the bulk of the rain and showers affecting western NZ.

The West Coast has the highest rainfall totals, with the western side of the North Island receiving considerably less, but still some downpours and areas of rain/showers.

Frosts won’t be as likely this week with more wind, rain and cloud – and a lift in temperatures both day and night for a number of regions.

We track NZ’s weather pattern through to Sunday, where a potential subtropical low may be forming.
