Wednesday’s weather outlook

A large anticyclone covers much of New Zealand today meaning mainly sunny and settled weather, light winds generally tend onshore this afternoon. Still there will be a few areas of cloud for some.

For the North Island we have some cloud at times Auckland northwards, perhaps some morning cloud about the Bay Of Plenty then breaking away. High cloud increases over the upper North Island this afternoon spreading into the lower North Island this evening. Mainly sunny otherwise.

Over the South Island we have mainly sunny weather, morning cloud breaks away from Canterbury. Some cloud builds about Southland and Coastal Otago late afternoon and evening as winds tend southerly.
