Sunny areas and some high cloud, light north to northeasterly winds.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
A mix of mid and high level cloud, northwesterly winds.
Highs: 18-24

Eastern North Island
High cloud, some sun may break through at times. Light north to northwesterly winds, tending east to northeast in the afternoon for coastal Hawkes Bay / Gisborne.
Highs: 23-27

Wellington
Mostly cloudy with northwesterly winds.
High: 17

Marlborough & Nelson
Plenty of high cloud for Marlborough, may be a spit in the afternoon otherwise mainly dry. Nelson has cloudy skies with some afternoon rain, easing later in the evening. North to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 18-22

Canterbury
Patchy rain or drizzle, mainly in the morning then starting to dry out in the afternoon although remaining mostly cloudy. Southerlies tend east to northeast after midday.
Highs: 14-16

West Coast
Rain, the odd heavy falls possible. Fiordland sees morning cloud break to a few sunny spells, chance of an isolated shower in the afternoon otherwise mainly dry. Northerly winds.
Highs: 15-17

Southland & Otago
A mix of sun and cloud, isolated showers develop late afternoon about inland areas, possibly becoming heavy with some thunder then clearing in the evening. Coastal Otago has a mostly cloudy day. Light easterly quarter winds.
Highs: 14-20
